Bonjour!

1)      Skating this week is on Wednesday afternoon.

2)    Friday is Fruit Friday (again)

3)    Friday is also recycling day:  our recycling days have contributed to purchasing a Smart Board for our classroom.  Our class looks forward to showing you the many things we are learning about the Smart Board.  Thank you for all your effort!

4)    Please note: Concert tickets will be going home to those who sent money to purchase them. Please have a look in your child’s plastic bag to ensure you get them. If you do not receive tickets the day that you send the money, please contact me.

4)  This week is also education week and the theme is “My Place.”  The theme encourages everyone to think about how we contribute to and make a difference within our home, community, province,  country and our world.  Peace, solidarity, democracy and the environment are the core values on which the theme is based.

The grade ones are focusing on ways individuals can make a difference in our community.

Wednesday:  “Rainbow Day” – Wear as many different colours as you can to represent the diversity of our community, our country and our world!

Thursday:  “Occupation Day” – What do you want to be when you grow up?  Come to school dressed up and show everyone!

Reading:  Our little book this week is “A table.” This book is about sitting down and eating a meal, the things the main character eats and what goes on during dinner. 

Vocabulary: This is fruit vocabulary. Please practice nightly, sounding out unfamiliar words. 

Writing:  Your child is asked to write 2 sentences using action words (from the last vocab sheet).  The writing sheet is in the green homework folder.

If your child is bringing home work to be finished, it is because either they were not here or more than enough time was given in class to complete the work.
