This week:

1) Thursday is the last day of school before Easter.  Thursday is a full day of school.

2)  Project: We are asking students to make an Easter hat to wear to school on Thursday.  This can be a hat from home that is decorated for Easter however your child wants…the more creative the better!  Please don’t go to any great expense to buy decorations, you can use whatever you have at home i.e. construction paper, cotton balls, pipe cleaners, straws, etc.  One thing to keep in mind is that the hat should not get in the way of your child completing his/her work that day.

3) Locker clean-out:  this week we will be cleaning out lockers and changes of clothing will be sent home.  Please look through the bag to make sure there is a full change of clothes in it that fits your child.  Please send a change of clothes back after Easter.

Reading:  This week’s reader is about Easter: “Le marche de Paques”

Vocab:  The page of theme words this week is Easter words again.

Math:  We have just started introducing measurement and are focusing on how LONG and how TALL various objects are.  Please try to question your child as to how tall and how long things are around the house and even comparing for example, how tall the chair is compared to how tall the fridge is i.e. which is taller?  Which is shorter? etc.
