We have been working on multiplication facts in our math unit. I am including a link which has math games that the children may enjoy and get some practise with multiplication facts. Quick recall is important to aid in effeciency and fluency of computation skills, especially when we get into 2 digit numbers.

Health Test on Feb. 23 (Tuesday). The children are bringing home  a study guide today and should review the handout I gave out for homework tonight. The children will not be expected to recall the definition, but will be asked to fill in the blank with the correct word when the definition is given. I have discussed this with them today.

Complete survey for technology class by Friday.

Reminders:

Return swimming permission slip and money. it seems our swimming for this Friday is postponed due to the availability of lifeguards. When I know further information, I will pass it along.

Our Book Fair is next week. An email was sent out recently regarding this event.

Health: Ww are working on Ch.3 and a test will be coming up in the next 2 weeks or so. Tonight I am assigning definitions 1-10 for study. There will be  a total of 29 definitions. Reviewing  a little at a time is a good idea so I will be assigning review throughout the next couple of weeks.  Developing good study skills is very important.

• Bring a loonie for Literacy tomorrow and remember to work on your BINGO card. Return to school by Friday. We will have a special guest in our classroom tomorrow afternoon to read to the children as a part of Family Literacy Day. We are looking forward to this visit.

**** On Monday, Jan. 11th, the nurses will be here for the Grade 4 immunizations. The second and third immunizations will be given on Feb. 15, and May 17.  An email will be posted to parents in the next day or two from the ofice with further information.  Since the H1N1 needles ran so smoothly, I don’t anticipate too much resistance from the children.
